World Series of Darts Finals 2026: Ross Smith beats Gerwyn Price 11:5 to take the title

Ross Smith wins the World Series of Darts Finals 2026 in Amsterdam: 11:5 against Gerwyn Price with a 103.89 Average and eleven 180s – his second major title.

Ross Smith celebrated the biggest success of his career in four years on Sunday evening in Amsterdam: the Englishman won the World Series of Darts Finals 2026 with an 11:5 win in the final against Gerwyn Price – and did so with an Average of 103.89 points.

It is Smith's first title at this tournament and at the same time his second major success overall, four years after his triumph at the European Championship 2022.

Six Legs in a row decide the final

The final at the AFAS Live was open for a long time: after the break it was 5:5, with both players keeping the other at arm's length without being able to pull away decisively. But then Ross Smith took control of the match and won six Legs in a row to make it 11:5.

In this phase the Englishman showed his best darts: among other things he checked out 123 and 127 points, the latter via the Bullseye. In total Smith threw eleven 180s. Gerwyn Price, who finished with an Average of 97.28, missed the Double several times in the decisive phase and had no answer left.

Smith's road to the title

  • Round 1: 6:3 against Kevin Doets
  • Round 2: 10:5 against Daryl Gurney
  • Quarter-final: 10:7 against Josh Rock
  • Semi-final: 11:8 against Gian van Veen
  • Final: 11:5 against Gerwyn Price

The semi-final against the Dutchman Gian van Veen in particular was a test of character: Smith played against the crowd, hit seven 180s and a 109 finish, missed a match dart at first and then sealed his place in the final on Double 10.

Price still waiting for his next major title

For Gerwyn Price this was the chance to end a long drought. The Welshman won his most recent major title back in 2022 – at the World Series of Darts Finals, of all places. That wait now goes on.

Price had played a strong tournament: in the quarter-final he beat James Wade 10:7 with an Average of around 103 points, and in the semi-final he was clearly the better man in the 11:7 against compatriot Jonny Clayton, averaging 104.07 points – Clayton managed 95.62.

  • Round 1: win against Brody Klinge
  • Round 2: 10:5 against Jim Long
  • Quarter-final: 10:7 against James Wade
  • Semi-final: 11:7 against Jonny Clayton
  • Final: 5:11 against Ross Smith

Littler and van Gerwen out early

Sunday in Amsterdam had already made headlines before the final. Jonny Clayton knocked world champion Luke Littler out of the tournament 10:4 in the quarter-final.

Defending champion Michael van Gerwen had already gone out in the first round – 5:6 against Daryl Gurney. Gian van Veen kept Dutch hopes alive the longest: he came through 10:8 against Dirk van Duijvenbode in the quarter-final before Smith stopped him.

Prize money: 100,000 pounds for the champion

The total prize money of the World Series of Darts Finals had been raised from 400,000 to 450,000 pounds for 2026. For Smith the title means a winner's prize of 100,000 pounds.

For the Englishman it is the crowning moment of a strong season in which he had already picked up several tournament wins – now the second big TV title of his career is added.
