Yesterday's matchday

Nunjo Dewaele came through at the ADC Global Championship in Portsmouth without dropping a leg. On Monday he won 5:0 against Barry Watson. This year the event is played as a knockout, every match best of 9: lose and you're out.

Things were correspondingly tight at several boards. Kevin Lankhuizen won 5:4 against Stephen Cake, and it was just as close for Clark against Lennon, Kustermans against van der Velden and Coleman against Ayres. Van Trijp also needed the final leg against Fitch and won 5:4.

The day went well for the Dutch players: Pronk, Keen, van Trijp and Kustermans all advanced. Marc Vleghert won his duel with Lewis Gurney 5:1 and left him just one leg. Pronk against Turner, Keen against Winspear and Remory against Deklerck also won 5:1.
