Bahrain Darts Masters 2027: PDC confirms return on 14/15 January – World Series starts in Bahrain

The PDC confirms: the Bahrain Darts Masters takes place on 14/15 January 2027 at Terminal 4 by Beyon and opens the World Series. Tickets on sale.
For a long time it was unclear whether the World Series of Darts 2027 would be able to start in Bahrain at all. Now there is certainty: the Bahrain Darts Masters returns on 14 and 15 January 2027 and opens the new World Series season. The PDC has officially confirmed the event, and tickets are already on sale.
Certainty after weeks of uncertainty
Because of the tense situation in the Middle East, it was unclear for months whether the tournament could take place in January. The PDC put an end to the speculation and announced the event's return: "The Bahrain Darts Masters will return on January 14-15 to kick off the 2027 World Series of Darts, with tickets now on sale", the association's official statement says.
That means the 2027 World Series will once again begin outside Europe – and immediately after the 2026/27 World Championship at Alexandra Palace.
For Bahrain it is the fifth edition of the Masters. The event is staged by the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) together with sports marketing agency CBX, with the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) supporting the tournament as a partner. The sporting organisation lies with the PDC, which lists the Masters as the opening round of the World Series of Darts 2027.
Venue: Terminal 4 by Beyon
Play once again takes place at Terminal 4 by Beyon. The hall will be converted for the two tournament days and is set – in the organisers' words – to become "Bahrain's answer to the iconic Alexandra Palace", in other words Bahrain's counterpart to the legendary London World Championship venue. Fancy-dress activities, themed fan areas and a wide food and drink offering have also been announced.
Format: eight PDC stars against eight Asian players
Nothing changes about the tried-and-tested format. Eight PDC top players face eight of the best players from Asia across two days. The first-round ties therefore traditionally pit one World Series star against one regional representative.
Which professionals will take part is, however, still open:
- Field: not yet confirmed – the PDC will announce the names at a later date
- Draw/first-round ties: therefore not yet available
- Prize money: not communicated so far
- Session times and TV/streaming coverage: still open
Tickets available now
Ticket sales started alongside the confirmation. For a limited time there is an early-bird discount of 20 per cent.
- Grandstand (two days): from 16 Bahraini dinars after the discount
- Premium table seats (two days): from 32 Bahraini dinars
- Also available: seats right by the stage as well as VIP hospitality
- Booking: via the Bahrain International Circuit website or the BIC hotline
The winners in Bahrain so far
Since its premiere in 2023 the Masters has produced an impressive list of winners:
- 2023: Michael Smith – 8:6 against Gerwyn Price in the inaugural edition
- 2024: Luke Littler – the title on his World Series debut, in the final against Michael van Gerwen
- 2025: Stephen Bunting – 8:4 against Gerwyn Price, his first World Series title
- 2026: Michael van Gerwen – 8:6 against Gian van Veen, the first non-English winner in Bahrain
The organisers point out that the tournament has grown considerably in stature and popularity since its 2023 debut. BIC boss Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa called the event a milestone for the kingdom, bringing the world's best players to Bahrain. BTEA chief Sarah Buheji called the Masters a significant addition to the country's international sporting calendar and pointed to its commitment to sports tourism. CBX founder Carlo Boutagy highlighted the tournament's growing importance since 2023.
What happens next
That leaves the most exciting sporting question open: who will travel to Bahrain in January? The field is unlikely to be announced before the World Championship is over, as the calendar leaves only a few days between the World Championship final and the World Series opener. The other stops of the World Series of Darts 2027 have not been communicated either.
Only one thing is certain: the opener is set. On 14 and 15 January 2027 Bahrain fires the starting gun on the new World Series season.
