The Bahrain Darts Masters 2027 takes place on 14 and 15 January 2027 at Terminal 4 by Beyon in Sakhir. After a lengthy period of uncertainty about the tournament's future, the organisers have confirmed that it will go ahead: Bahrain once again hosts the opening event of the World Series of Darts, this time in its fifth edition. It is also the first major tournament after the 2026/27 PDC World Championship. 16 players take part. Eight leading professionals from the world of darts face eight of Asia's best players. In line with the event's usual format, the international field is made up of the top 4 of the PDC World Rankings plus four wildcard players, joined by eight local qualifiers or wildcard players. The participants for 2027 had not yet been named when the date was announced; the PDC will reveal the eight invited stars and their Asian opponents at a later date. The tournament is played as a knockout. The first round and the quarter-finals are played over the best of 11 legs, the semi-finals over the best of 13 legs and the final over the best of 15 legs. A total of £100,000 in prize money is paid out, £30,000 of it to the winner. As this is an invitational tournament, the prize money does not count towards the PDC World Ranking. Since its premiere in 2023 the tournament has added prominent names to its roll of honour: Michael Smith, Luke Littler, Stephen Bunting and Michael van Gerwen. The Dutchman won the 2026 edition 8-6 in the final against his compatriot Gian van Veen and therefore goes into the tournament as defending champion. The event is staged by the Bahrain International Circuit together with sports promoter CBX and the PDC, supported by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority.
