PDC World Matchplay 2027: Format

The PDC World Matchplay 2027 is played as a knockout event with 32 players and over Legs only – there are no Sets. The distance increases from round to round: the 1st round is Best of 19 Legs, the 2nd round Best of 21 Legs, the quarter-finals Best of 31 Legs, the semi-finals Best of 33 Legs and the final Best of 35 Legs. One special feature is the two-Leg rule: every match has to be won by two clear Legs. Up to five additional Legs are played for this; if there is still no winner after that, a sudden-death Leg decides it. If the score in the first round is 12-12, for example, the 25th Leg is the last and deciding Leg. Source
