UK Open 2027: Format

The UK Open is played over a weekend from Friday to Sunday and has the unique feature that every single round is drawn freely, without seeding, as soon as all participants in that round are known. In round 1 the 32 amateur qualifiers face the Tour Card holders ranked 97 to 128. In round 2, places 65 to 96 come in, in round 3 places 33 to 64 and in round 4 the top 32 in the world rankings. From round 5, the last 32, it continues as a pure knockout, with the ties drawn immediately before each round. Up to and including the last 16, up to eight boards are played in parallel; from the quarter-finals it is one board over Best of 19 Legs, and the final over Best of 21 Legs. Source
