The World Grand Prix 2027 takes place from 27 September to 3 October 2027 and is once again being played at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester. It is the 30th edition of the tournament, which has been one of the Professional Darts Corporation's major tournaments since 1998 and was held for many years at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin; in 2020 the Ricoh Arena in Coventry was the host, and since 2021 Leicester has been the home of the event. The sponsor is Boyle Sports. In sporting terms the World Grand Prix stands apart from every other major tournament: every leg is played in 501 double-in, double-out. A player can only start scoring once they have hit a Double, and must also finish the leg on a Double. Since 2000 it has been played entirely as a knockout competition, and since 1999 in best of sets format. As a rule the tournament runs for about a calendar week. The field consists of 32 players. The top 16 of the PDC Order of Merit are seeded and are joined by the 16 highest-ranked players from the ProTour Order of Merit who have not yet qualified. The prize money won counts towards the PDC World Ranking. A total of £750,000 is paid out, including £150,000 for the winner and £80,000 for the runner-up; even a defeat in the first round is worth £7,500. The record champion is Phil Taylor with eleven titles. The reigning champion is Luke Humphries, who won the final 6-4 in sets against Welshman Gerwyn Price in October 2026. The World Grand Prix 2027 will be broadcast by Sky Sports, among others; in Germany and other European regions DAZN holds extensive streaming rights to PDC events, while in the Netherlands, Poland and the Nordic and Baltic countries Viaplay is the tournament's streaming home.
