The MODUS Super Series is a weekly darts series that launched in September 2022 at a purpose-built venue in Portsmouth on England's south coast. The venue is the MODUS Live Lounge, a church converted into an arena with a stage, broadcast technology from Sporty TV and Online Darts and spectator seating for the finals nights. The series is run by MODUS, an events and management company founded in 1997 that also looks after players such as Michael van Gerwen, Fallon Sherrock, Simon Whitlock and Joe Cullen. The competition grew out of the online darts of the Covid years: at first invited players competed from home under the title “A Night at the Darts”, which later became a closed studio operation in Southampton, running as the Live League in 2021 and 2022. At the end of 2022 came the third stage of development, with the permanent base in Portsmouth. By 2023 the format was established with twelve qualifying weeks and Champions Week in week 13, and the prize pool stood at over £1,000,000. Darts World Magazine now rates the series as number two behind the PDC, measured by playing environment, well-known names and quality of play. Play takes place on six days a week: according to the organiser, 104 matches are streamed to a worldwide audience every week; according to Darts501, that is more than 30 hours of play from Monday to Saturday between 09:30 and 22:00. Each week twelve players in three groups fight their way to finals night on Saturday evening, where semi-finals and the final decide the weekly winner. The series is open to players aged 18 and over without a PDC Tour Card as well as to legends of the sport – among the best-known names are Fallon Sherrock, Martin Adams, Robert Thornton, Kevin Painter, Lisa Ashton, Mikuru Suzuki, Neil Duff, Jarred Cole and Thibault Tricole. The tournament director is experienced PDC caller George Noble, who sees the series as a springboard to the PDC; on the microphone are Paul Nicholson, Chris Mason, Chris Murphy and Scott Mitchell, among others. The first Champions Week was won by Conan Whitehead in December 2022, Luke Littler became the first player to take two series wins in a row in May and August 2023, and in July 2026 the 58-year-old Derek Coulson came out on top in Series 14. The most successful player in the series is Neil Duff, who extended his own record to eight weekly titles in week 5 of Series 15. Champions Week of Series 15 is played from 26 to 31 October 2026 in Portsmouth, with £20,000 and the Series 15 crown at stake. Alongside the regular playing weeks, there have been themed special weeks since 2024, such as Double Trouble, Women's Week, the Legends League, Rising Stars Week, Seniors Showdown or International Pairs Week, for which Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis have announced a joint comeback. The stage of the MODUS Super Series also hosts the finals of the Amateur Darts Circuit and the ADC Global Championship. The series is broadcast live and free of charge on Pluto TV; archive material and additional coverage run on the MODUS Super Series YouTube channel.
