PDC World Grand Prix 2026: Format

28 September – 4 October 2026 · Mattioli Arena, Leicester

The World Grand Prix 2026 is the only big major tournament played entirely in double-in/double-out mode: every player has to hit a double to start a leg, only then do their scores count, and the leg also has to be finished on a double. It is played as a knockout in sets, with a set going over best of 5 legs and with no tie-break. Round 1 is played over best of 3 sets, round 2 and the quarter-finals over best of 5 sets, the semi-finals over best of 9 sets and the final over best of 11 sets. Because of this format, legs are usually decided more quickly, since a missed opening double amounts to a scoreless visit. Source
